Go Green. Green coffee beans (not roasted yet) have high levels of chlorogenic acid, a compound that reduces blood pressure and triglycerides, both of which are linked to heart disease. Unroasted beans also have a higher antioxidant capacity than roasted beans. However, if you’re just after your caffeine fix, green coffee is not any more potent than regular coffee beans. Make sure you drink your coffee within 24 hours of grinding; after that time, it loses much of its antioxidants.
